Meet Cris Moses

Public service should make complicated systems easier to understand — and easier to trust.

Cris Moses is a Houston community leader, pastor, Realtor, business owner, and former educator. Across each of those roles, his work has centered on one thing: helping people understand complicated systems, make informed decisions, and receive the service they deserve.

As a real-estate professional, Cris sees firsthand how appraisal values, exemptions, market data, and property records affect homeowners, buyers, sellers, small businesses, and neighborhoods. He understands that a number on a notice can have real consequences for a family's budget, a senior trying to stay in a longtime home, or a small business planning for the year ahead.

His experience as an educator shaped how he approaches public service. People should not be expected to become experts in government processes just to protect their interests. Information should be clear. Instructions should be straightforward. Questions should receive answers. When something goes wrong, there should be a reasonable path to get it corrected.

That is the commitment Cris brings to HCAD: listen to property owners, make the process easier to navigate, insist on accurate and explainable decisions, and hold the organization accountable for how well it serves the public. He believes public institutions earn trust by being responsive, transparent, and focused on the people who rely on them.
